The Club Library is as old as the Clubhouse, and the first volumes added to the
shelves were gifts from Club Members. Those early Class books and other
University memorabilia became the nucleus of what today is the largest collection
of Harvardiana outside of Cambridge, a research collection open to scholars upon
request. Our main reading room features books of current interest-- purchased for
browsing and circulation purposes - as well as more than 100 periodical titles.
Although the 20th Century tradition of after-lunch brandy and cigars
in leather chairs has changed, the chairs still provide rest and relaxation for
Harvard Club library users.
