EARLY COLLEGE AWARENESS PROGRAM

The Club's Early College Awareness Program (ECA) encourages 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
and their parents from low income, less advantaged schools to plan for college
(not Harvard or even a four year school). We facilitate presentations to help them realize
finishing high school need not be the end of the educational line. Members of the Club
cooperate with each school to arrange a program explaining what resources, financial,
academic and personal, are available and the steps required to get there.

CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY

The Children's Aid Society of New York City is dedicated to helping children become happy,
healthy and productive adults. Volunteer mentors help extend the reach of Children's
Aid staff, helping youth explore careers, attain life skills, express themselves through
the arts, pursue educational activities and gain crucial academic support. Each program
is overseen by a facilitator who works alongside every mentor and guides him or her
in completing program activities and components.

FREE ARTS NYC

Help children re-imagine their world through art. Be a weekly Arts Mentor! Free Arts NYC
seeks caring, committed adult volunteers to bring creative arts programs to underserved
children on a weekday afternoon or evening. Volunteer placements are available at
community-based agencies in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx.

iMENTOR

iMentor proves that even the busiest, most successful New Yorkers have time to
be quality mentors. iMentor uses mentoring to bridge the divide between New York
City's eclectic communities, creating unique and dynamic relationships that would
not have been possible without the program. This year, iMentor will connect 1000
young people in New York City's underserved communities with 1000 mentors.

JUMPSTART FOR YOUNG CHILDREN:
READ FOR THE RECORD

Jumpstart for Young Children tries to bridge the gap between children from
low-income or under-resourced backgrounds and their middle income counterparts
before kindergarten through literacy development and education. An AmeriCorps
organization, we enable one-on-one mentoring and tutoring relationships (4-6 hours
per week throughout the school year) between an AmeriCorps college student and
a preschooler.

NEW YORK CARES

New York Cares offers over 1000 flexibly scheduled volunteer opportunities
every month, addressing the most pressing needs in the city. Volunteers serve
meals to the homeless, visit lonely seniors in nursing homes, improve adult and
children's literacy, help disadvantaged students prepare for the SAT exam, and more.
New York Cares hosts four large volunteer events every year.

THE PATRONS PROGRAM

Make a difference after work or on the weekends with low-income New York City kids!
There are many opportunities to volunteer, ranging from tutoring to weekend Super Hero
Club trips, where students take a field trip to a destination inspired by a super hero,
to sitting on a board of a school and attending 4-5 meetings per year.

PEACE GAMES

Peace Games imagines a world where every child has the skills, knowledge, supportive
relationships, and opportunities to prevent violence and build safer communities.
We believe this goal is best achieved by building the capacity of schools and community
groups to implement holistic, peace and justice education programs.

PHOENIX HOUSE

Since 1967, Phoenix House has been helping men, women, teens and families
struggling with addiction. We operate over 140 programs in nine states, serving
almost 6,000 people each day. In New York alone, we have nearly 40 programs including
school and community-based prevention and intervention, outpatient and residential
treatment, and mental health and family support services.

THE WHAT TO EXPECT FOUNDATION: BABY BASICS STORE

To Expect Foundation (from the bestselling pregnancy guide, What To Expect When
You're Expecting) has launched the BABY BASICS prenatal health literacy program,
helping over 300,000 at-risk moms have healthier pregnancies and teaching literacy
skills with materials in 14 languages.

SAVING THE OUTBACK:
THE WILDLIFE AUSTRALIA FUND

The Wildlife Australia Fund, Inc is working with the Australian Wildlife Conservancy
to help save Pungalina - a 500,000 acre property in the Gulf of Carpentaria. A group of
Australian expatriates are working together in a US-wide fundraising initiative to buy
Pungalina and conserve it's delicate eco-system forever.
